Cheer Up Emo Kid

I’ll say this. By now i’m more than sure that my friends are sick of hearing how very sad I am all the time.  I’m sure that it’s difficult to relate to someone who is so very gloomy all the time. After a while, people just stop caring. It seems that I never tire of hearing people’s problems but those same people always tire of hearing mine. I understand. I really do. To them it must seem that i’m just complaining without taking any steps towards resolving my issues. However, the fact of the matter is that for the time being my position cannot change. I won’t go into the details of why that is, but, that’s just how it is. I’ve accepted it. It’s so !frustrating! to have people give me simple answers. Just move out. Just leave him. Just drive. Just get a car. Just ask them for more money. Just do this…just just just. If it were that easy I wouldn’t be complaining. I’m not the type to seek comfort when I can fix the problem myself. The hard part is trudging forward knowing that my life isn’t going to get better anytime soon.

Little Girls Dancing To Single Ladies Draw Ire from Adults

Now. Anyone who knows me knows that i’m a prude! I’m even offended by the bleach-blonde ed hardy trucker hat wearing girls. So why doesn’t the above video offend me at all? And why is it so upsetting to the adults that watch it?

Here’s the thing. I have a history in dance. Classical dance, ballet, ballroom, even a little bit of burlesque! The one type of dance that I never touched was African, because I can’t coordinate my body to jerk that well. THESE little girls have mastered those techniques beautifully (not to mention the turns!) The movements are animalistic, raw, passioante but I definitely stop at calling them sexy. Why is it that anything involving a bit of hip motion becomes associated with fornication? It’s DANCE. It’s supposed to invoke something raw in you. The girls are obviously (look at their faces!) having a great time. They did beautifully, the crowd is cheering them on and loving it. Frankly I think their moves are brilliant. They have excellent control and in a few years will be perfect. To put it in the words of Ms. Banks, they’re fierce. Is it a little risque? Maybe. But less than 100 years ago showing your CALVES was risque.

Computer Woes

The few of you that do read this may be wondering why I haven’t posted in 5 days! Believe it or not, it’s not by choice.

I have still been overloaded with work and school. There are about 400 pages of reading (and about 40 pages of notes) that I have to do for one class. Not to mention my LSAT Prep-Course homework (which is excrutiatingly plentiful). And yes, I still feel somewhat stuffed up and ill. But neither of those two things are what’s kept me away!
